If You Unsend A Message On Instagram Does It Notify?

Through UnSendAll, I have helped 1200+ users unsend millions of messages over a 2.5 year period. Users will often share the same concern - does unsending a message on Instagram notify the other person?

I am happy to report, that despite the millions of messages I've helped users unsend, I have NEVER received a report that the other person received a notification when a message was unsent through the UnSendAll App.

So, given this behavior why do users think that unsending will send a notification?

The reason is that in the past, old versions of Instagram DID replace sent message notifications with a message stating that "The message is no longer available because it was unsent by the sender". This wasn't technically sending a new notification, but replacing the message content in a notification with a notification stating that the message was unsent. Check the video below to see what the old behavior looked like.

This behavior was removed from Instagram versions a very long time ago, at least 3 years ago per my research, that's why my 1200+ users have unsent millions of messages over 2.5 years and not a single one has reported that anybody received a message unsent notifications.
